MOSES LAKE —The William C. Bonaudi Library is expanding its online ‘Wednesday Webinar’ series this quarter to help more students navigate library services and resources from home.

The library launched Wednesday Webinars at the beginning of the year as a way to introduce new students to library offerings. With the recent transition to remote learning, library staff want to make sure all students know how to access the library’s online resources to help with their assignments throughout the quarter.

“Our Wednesday Webinars have been going so well, we have decided to do two a week and offer a morning event,” said BBCC Librarian Rhonda Kitchens. “We stripped our offerings down to our most popular three topics. We have doubled our database titles so there’s a lot to share.”

Live webinars will now be offered Tuesday mornings, at 11 a.m., and Wednesday evenings, at 6:30 p.m. Webinars are open to all Big Bend students, faculty and staff.

Webinar topics for this month include Library Orientation, a basic overview of the library website, resources and services (May 13); Databases A-Z, an overview of the library’s databases and how to use them (May 19 and 20); and How to Find, Identify and Read Scholarly Articles, a guide to using scholarly or peer-reviewed sources for assignments (May 26 and 27).

Each session will have time built in for students to ask questions and get help with their specific assignments.

Students can make appointments directly with Kitchens if they are unable to make a live webinar, or if they need help in a different area. Recorded videos from previous sessions are also available to watch on demand on the library’s website.

For more information, or to sign up for an upcoming webinar, visit the library’s Wednesday Webinars webpage.
