Dr. Bryce Humpherys as our new Vice President for Learning & Student Success

Dr. Bryce Humpherys

Big Bend Community College welcomes Dr. Bryce Humpherys as our new Vice President for Learning & Student Success. Bryce comes to us from Yakima Valley Community College (YVCC) where he has served as the Dean of Basic Skills & the Grandview Campus since 2005.  Before that, he spent six years at Coconino Community College (AZ) as an instructor and Faculty Chair.  Dr. Humpherys also has experience teaching Spanish and Social Studies for three years in the Arizona K-12 system.  

In addition to his relevant work experience, Dr. Humpherys holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education: Social Studies and a master’s degree in Geography from Utah State University. His doctorate is in Educational Leadership from Washington State University. 

Dr. Humpherys understands the Washington Community & Technical Colleges system from his eleven years of service at YVCC. He will help BBCC by continuing the excellent leadership in accreditation, improvement of student achievement and completion, collaboration with faculty and staff, strategic visioning and planning efforts, and support of excellence in teaching and learning.
