Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Live Fire Exercises

BBCC’s Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) program conducted live fire exercises for firefighters from Pasco and Lewiston last Friday at the burn facility at the Grant County International Airport. The program is made possible by a partnership among BBCC, the Port of Moses Lake, and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The ARFF school has operated at BBCC for more than 40 years. Fire departments contract with BBCC to provide FAA required classroom instruction and live fire training. The program is projected to provide training for more than 150 firefighters this year.

BBCC has contracted to provide ARFF services for Boeing, SeaTac, Salem, Eugene, Lewiston, Pasco, Sky Harbor (Phoenix, Spokane, and Yakima.

The program is supported by the Washington Airport Managers Association and public safety divisions of airports throughout the Northwest.
