LDS Church of Moses Lake Completes BBCC Landscaping

Hundreds of volunteers worked part of two days on a landscaping project to transform the Liberal Arts and Business Building at Big Bend Community College 10 days before students start fall classes.

Members of the LDS Church in Moses Lake donated their labor and use of equipment to remove diseased trees, unwanted shrubs, and debris during their first work party, then on Sept 12.  they installed new trees, shrubs, drip systems, and rock according to a landscaping plan provided by the college. The college spent about $10,000 on the landscaping materials.

“It took exceptional planning by the college’s grounds crew and the volunteers to get this much work done in such a short time,” said Terry Leas, BBCC President. “The operators of the equipment were highly skilled, and the volunteers were well organized. It would have taken our maintenance crew weeks to complete this work.”

Last fall the LDS Church in Moses Lake completed big landscaping projects at the Student Center/Administration Building and at the Math/Science Building.
