Get H.E.R.E. features higher education, jobs, and resources

A college fair, fall hiring event, and a guide to local resources for college students are offered in one event at Big Bend Community College on September 30.

The first Get H.E.R.E. event will be held in the Masto Conference Center in the ATEC Building from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (H.E.R.E. stands for Higher Education Resources and Employment.)

Get H.E.R.E is a family-focused event for current and prospective college students. It combines events that formerly were held on separate dates into one all-day event.

Attendees will be able to meet with representatives of the region’s colleges and universities during the fall transfer fair sponsored by the Washington Council for High School/College relations.

BBCC Professional/Technical programs will have an open house. Campus tours and BBCC “Start Next Quarter” workshops also will be available.

The fall hiring event at Get H.E.R.E. will feature local employers who are currently hiring. Internship and apprenticeship information will be available at the hiring event.

There also will be information tables for BBCC on-campus resources, student clubs and organizations, and college partners and public agencies.

Get H.E.R.E. is organized by BBCC’s Career Services, Outreach and Recruitment, and Workforce Education Services. For information, contact Bonnie Jeffery at (509) 793-2069, or email bonniej@bigbend.edu
