Big Bend’s Castro earns STTACC Exemplary Staff Award

MOSES LAKE — Big Bend Community College Financial Aid Program Assistant Edwin Castro was recently honored by the Staff Training Association for Technical and Community Colleges (STTACC) with the 2019 Exemplary Staff Award from Region D.

“(The STTACC) feels that (Edwin) has consistently demonstrated commitment and excellence in job performance and dedication to the mission and goals of (Big Bend Community College), as well as dedication to the professional development of the classified staff on your campus,” wrote STTACC President Micki Wells.

Castro is scheduled to receive his award in person at the Fall 2019 STTACC Conference being held at Pierce College in August.

“Edwin has done an outstanding job this year learning his position and assisting our students,” said Financial Aid Director Rita Ramirez. “We are very proud of the job he has done helping students and improving the college’s customer service.”

STTACC Exemplary Staff Awards have been established to provide annual recognition of Community and Technical College Classified Staff, and these distinguished awards will serve as an accolade to recognize one of the most critical attributes to a successful institution.

Nominees for the STTACC Exemplary Staff Award have consistently demonstrated commitment and excellence in job performance and dedication to the mission and goals of their institution, as well as dedication to the professional development of the classified staff on their campus.
