MOSES LAKE — Big Bend Community College’s (BBCC) childcare facilities will be closed beginning tomorrow (Nov. 15) until further notice pending an investigation from Child Protective Services (CPS). Self-reported allegations are currently being investigated and brought cause for the closure.
“We take these reports and allegations extremely seriously,” said Director of Communications at Big Bend Matt Killebrew. “We will cooperate and follow the lead of the investigating departments.”
The center’s licensure has been temporarily suspended by the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) while the investigation is ongoing. BBCC is working alongside CPS, DCYF, and all investigating agencies to provide whatever information is needed to move this investigation forward,
“While we cannot comment on the current investigation, Big Bend is cooperating and providing any information necessary moving forward with the investigation,” Killebrew added. “We will be fully transparent and accommodating to whatever is asked of us to help investigate these self-reported allegations. By reporting these allegations immediately after becoming aware of them, we want to show through action that we want to be helpful and diligent.
