The last home game of the season is also the biggest game of the season for the Big Bend Community College Vikings men’s basketball team.

The top-ranked BBCC Vikings host the second-ranked Community Colleges of Spokane Sasquatch on Saturday, February 27 at 4 p.m. BBCC’s Student Activities Office is promoting “Project Pack the House!” to encourage local fan support for the Vikings.

The contest will be the men’s basketball game of the week in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC).

The game will decide the championship of the NWAC East Region. BBCC is the defending East Region champion. If BBCC prevails, the Vikings will win the East Region outright. If Spokane wins, the two will share the East Region championship.

BBCC (12-1, 21-7) beat Spokane (11-2, 25-3) 96-87 on January 30 at Spokane in a game that pushed BBCC to No. 1 in the NWAC coaches’ poll and dropped Spokane to second. (There are 33 Washington and Oregon community colleges from four regions in NWAC basketball.)

BBCC has clinched a home NWAC Cross-Regional Playoff game to be held March 5 at 5 p.m. The opponent has not yet been determined, but will be a lower-seeded team from another region of the NWAC. Admission to the NWAC Cross-Regional Playoff game is $10 per person.
