BBCC Foundation Hires New Executive Director

Moses Lake native LeAnne K. Parton is the new Executive Director of the Big Bend Community College Foundation.

“LeAnne has the skills and experience we need,” said Katherine Franz Swinger, Chair of the BBCC Foundation Board. “It’s an advantage for the Foundation that she has always lived and worked in this area.”

Parton graduated from Moses Lake High School, is an alumnus of Big Bend Community College, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Eastern Washington University.

The Foundation Board noted her demonstrated abilities in fundraising, administration, property management, and recruiting. She has more than two decades experience organizing special events. She was Administrator of Moses Lake Christian Academy from 2001 to 2009.

Parton replaces Doug Sly, who served 12 years as Foundation Executive Director. In December Sly was hired as BBCC Director of Public Information.

Sly will continue to work with donors and friends of the college and assist with Parton’s transition to her new position.
