Students who complete these program or certificate options may find employment as a customer service representative, bank teller, receptionist, secretary, executive secretary, bookkeeper, office assistant, office clerk, administrative assistant, executive secretary, and/ or office manager in a wide variety of industries where strong office technology knowledge is required. Office employees and administrative assistants are increasingly assuming responsibilities once reserved for managerial and professional staff. These types of positions are growth demand occupations for the North Central (Grant/Adams County) area as well as state of Washington. Statewide these occupations will see a projected 7-13% increase in openings between now and 2017. Nationally, this occupation ranks among those with the largest number of job openings.
This program is designed for students who are interested in specializing in the medical office administration and billing. This program includes a combination of medical knowledge, accounting and business skills, and computer applications.
Students who complete one of these program or certificate options may find employment as a customer service representative, receptionist, office clerk, medical secretary, insurance specialist, medical biller, records clerk, and/ or office manager. This is one of the few health-related occupations in which there is typically no direct hands-on patient care .
