Take the first step toward becoming a certified birth doula in this comprehensive, hands-on training course designed for those ready to enter the world of birth work. Taught by Jacqueline Starkey of Birth Journeys, this DONA-approved Birth Doula Workshop fulfills one of the key requirements for DONA International certification and equips you with the foundational skills to support families through pregnancy, labor, and birth. In this course you will:

  • Learn how to provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to birthing families
  • Explore the doula’s role before, during, and after labor
  • Practice comfort measures and labor support techniques
  • Build confidence in your ability to hold space and advocate respectfully
  • Gain insight into the ethics, scope of practice, and professional standards of DONA International

This workshop is ideal for aspiring doulas, birth workers, and anyone drawn to supporting empowered, evidence-based birth experiences. Upon completion, participants will receive a DONA-approved certificate of attendance, an essential step toward full DONA certification. With these hands on skills your services can be billed and paid up to $3500 by WA State Medicaid.
