Five BBCC Instructors awarded tenure

MOSES LAKE — On Thursday, the Big Bend Community College Board of Trustees affirmed the amazing contributions of five probationary faculty members and unanimously voted to award them tenure.

“This milestone is a big one in their professional careers, and I’m so grateful that each of them chose Big Bend,” said BBCC President Dr. Sara Thompson Tweedy. “I look forward to serving alongside them for many years to come!”

The newly tenured instructors are Kaja Devine, Emily Eidson, Aaron Mahoney, Rosemary Parsons, and Dustin Regul.

Kaja Devine was hired at BBCC in 2022 and teaches Criminal Justice/Psychology courses. She earned both her B.A. and M.A. at Central Washington University.

Emily Eidson started at BBCC in 2022 and teaches in the Nursing program. She received her A.A. from Big Bend and her B.S.N. from Western Governors University.

Aaron Mahoney, hired in 2020, teaches both Agriculture and Chemistry classes. He earned his B.S. from Wichita State University, M.S. from Western Washington University and his Ph.D. from Washington State University.

Rosemary Parsons has been with Big Bend since 2010 and currently teaches English Language Acquisition. She received her A.A. at BBCC and B.A. at Central Washington University.

Dustin Regul has been a part of BBCC since 2022 teaching Art classes. He earned his B.A. at Illinois College, M.A. at Eastern Illinois University and M.F.A. at Washington State University.
