Mechatronics Meltdown to be held at Big Bend on Feb. 22

MOSES LAKE — The annual Mechatronics Meltdown will return to Big Bend Community College (BBCC) on February 22.

The Mechatronics Meltdown is an annual event hosted by BBCC. This event celebrates mechatronics and computer science, featuring interactive projects and demonstrations that highlight the integration of mechanical, electrical, and computer technologies.

“We are so excited to welcome the community to our Mechatronics Meltdown,” said Anthony Simon, President of the BBCC Mechatronics Club. “The event will have demonstrations and activities for all ages and will showcase some of the amazing programs Big Bend has to offer. You won’t want to miss it!”

The Workforce Education Center, located at 7620 Bolling St NE on the BBCC campus, will be bustling from Noon to 4 p.m. with various activities and showcases to promote Big Bend programs such as Computer Science, Robotics, Agriculture, Manufacturing and Process Technology, STEM, and engineering among other related fields.

“We hope this event will bring awareness to the community of the vast opportunities and influence that these programs have in our community and the world,” Simon added. “We hope that attendees will walk away with a new understanding of how all these technical skills and educational programs influence their daily lives.”

The event is free and open to the public, making it an excellent opportunity for families, students, and technology enthusiasts to learn more about the rapidly advancing field of Mechatronics. Attendees who bring a donation of a non-perishable food item will receive a raffle ticket for the opportunity to win one of several prizes.
