MOSES LAKE – Big Bend Community College is hosting Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, joining comic book shots and specialty bookstores around the world in promoting the comic book industry.

The Big Bend event is from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday in both the library and the Masto Conference Center at the ATEC Building. The event will feature free comics, a variety of board and card games, video game tournaments and prizes for creative costumes.

“Last year’s Free Comic Book Day proved there was an audience for this kind of event, so this year we have more of everything: more space, more games, more snacks, and most importantly, more comics,” said event organizer Zach Welhouse.

Last year’s event drew about 80 participants to the college campus.

Free Comic Book Day is an annual event, held on the first Saturday of May around the world to promote comic books.
