MOSES LAKE — An information fair is scheduled this week for people who want to learn more about the workforce training courses at Big Bend Community College, and to talk to some of the employers in those fields. “Explore Big Bend: Innovation and Technology” is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Masto Conference in the ATEC building.

“More than 20 employers are expected to attend, allowing students and job seekers the opportunity to meet local industry, discuss potential job openings and identify necessary training options,” wrote Tiffany Fondren, BBCC communications coordinator.

Jody Bortz, BBCC career services coordinator, said “Explore Big Bend” is a way to highlight what kind of jobs are available in Grant and Adams counties, and where people can get the training necessary for those jobs.

“This event is geared toward keeping our local talent in the area, building a pipeline for future industry, careers and economic development,” Bortz said. It’s part of the Career Connected Learning program, designed to inform local residents about “employment and training options available in our community.”
