MOSES LAKE — The Rotary Club of Moses Lake has announced that a number of scholarships are available to students who have graduated, or will graduate, from a high school located within the Big Bend Community College service district of Grant and Adams Counties and the Odessa School District.
Applications are now available on the Rotary Club’s website to students who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and are not a direct lineal descendant of one of the club’s members. All scholarship applicants must have attended high school in the BBCC service district with the exception of those applying for the Clyde Owen Aviation scholarship, which is open to all students in the flight program.
The Rotary Scholarship Foundation was incorporated in May of 1979 as a project of the Community Service Program of the Rotary Club of Moses Lake to build a permanent endowment fund of tax-deductible gifts from members and friends of Rotary. The interest from this endowment is used annually to fund these scholarships.
They are awarded to BBCC students and graduates to help them complete their educational goals. Scholarships are available for high school graduates wishing to continue their education as well.
“The Rotary Club of Moses Lake is proud to be able to help students reach their educational goals,” said Scholarship Chairman Pete Erickson. “Anyone that wants to help can make a tax-deductible gift to the Rotary Scholarship Foundation to help guarantee these scholarships will be available each year.”
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Feb. 28 in order to be considered. Selected candidates will be required to participate in interviews in late March.
All scholarship applications and submission instructions can be found on the Rotary Club of Moses Lake’s website, HERE!
