Japanese students were welcomed at Big Bend Community College for the Agriculture Training Program. The program has been conducted for 51 years.

Students are spending the next 19 months in the United States to study English and American agricultural techniques.

The first nine weeks of their stay are spent at Big Bend before moving to host farms, both in and out of Grant County.

Host families provide transportation to and from the college.

Officials encourage Grant County residents to invite trainees for home visits to have lunch or dinner.
