Representatives of the college, Japanese government, and city of Moses Lake welcomed trainees during a ceremony in ATEC. JATP and Big Bend Community College this year celebrate the 50th anniversary of the program. Trainees will live in the residence hall for nine weeks while learning English, farm safety, and American culture. They will be assigned to host farms across the U.S. according to their majors. Trainees will be in the U.S. for 19 months.
