Big Bend receives $2.4 million grant for Upward Bound program

Big Bend Community College has received a $2.4 million grant to continue providing TRiO Upward Bound services to students.

The college will receive about $484,000 during each of the next five years for the program, which offers tutoring, mentorship, financial guidance and enrichment activities.

The grant, totaling $2,419,290, will continue the program’s mission to help first-generation, low-income students overcome “social, cultural and academic barriers to become successful.”
