MOSES LAKE —Several Big Bend Community College nursing students and faculty members spent most of their day Saturday at the Grant County Fairgrounds, assisting with the Grant County Health District’s latest mass COVID vaccination clinic.

They joined volunteers from the Moses Lake School District, Grant PUD, Samaritan Healthcare and other county agencies.

Approximately 1,100 vaccines were administered within 12 hours that day, many by Big Bend nursing students.

“We were honored to have the opportunity to lend our support to GCHD and our community,’ said BBCC Director of Health Education Programs Wendy Farr. “We are so proud of our students for volunteering their time to participate in this event. They are true ambassadors of Big Bend and the nursing profession.”

BBCC nursing faculty participants: Katherine Christian, Jennifer Reames-Zilliox and Wendy Farr; nursing students: Shalon Gough, Celia Green, Caelan Peters, Alison Freel, Mylie Ohl, Raeann Wahl, Atta Dieng, Joshua Lochow, Yaquelin Valdivia, Ryley Griffith, Tanya Escure, Vanessa Rodriguez, and Ariana Regimbal.
