BBCC and Samaritan Healthcare partner on Internship

MOSES LAKE — Samaritan Healthcare has partnered up with Big Bend Community College to provide a paid internship for second-year Manufacturing and Process Technology students at BBCC.

“We are thrilled to partner with Big Bend Community College and their Manufacturing and Process Technology (MPT) program to offer hands-on internship experiences at Samaritan,” said Dan Milbridge, Chief Ambulatory Services Officer for Samaritan Healthcare. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals right here in our community.”

The internship will give students 16 to 20 hours per week, complementing their school schedule, of hands-on experience performing a variety of duties in and around the building of the hospital complex. Some of those duties include skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, and remodeling of the building and related equipment.

“I am just extremely grateful for the team at Samaritan Healthcare for providing this opportunity for our students to get meaningful, paid, hands-on experience that they can not only put on a resume but can also apply towards degree credits in our Manufacturing & Process Technologies program,” said Justin Henley, BBCC Industrial Systems Technology Assistant Professor. “I think it speaks volumes about the character of the entire organization at Samaritan Healthcare to want to give back to our community and help us train today’s workforce.”

The application deadline is Nov. 22, 2024 for a winter quarter 2025 position.
