Area’s First HS21 Graduates

These ladies were among more than eighty students who attended the GED/HS21 graduation ceremony on the campus of Big Bend Community College last Wednesday, June 10. They juggled family and work schedules to complete the program and earn their diplomas.

Four area students fulfilled the requirements to earn a high school (HS21) certificate through Big Bend Community College during the 2014-15 academic year. The HS21 program offers students ages 21 and older the opportunity to complete their high school requirements by producing a portfolio of evidence based on prior learning, community service, occupational experience, high school transcripts, 2002 Series GED test scores, current appraisals, special projects, and coursework.
