Please note that Big Bend Community College and our department does not endorse any brand of sUAS for any specific mission, person or organization. Our fleet was selected with the purpose of providing our students a broad range of platform experiences. If you are interested in purchasing an sUAS for personal or commercial use we recommend doing your own research on the costs and benefits for your specific mission applications as sUAS are not a one-size-fits-all type of product.
Our programs provide students exposure to a number of sUAS products, which includes both rotor and fixed-wing platforms. Our fleet currently consists of USB connected simulators, mini-drones, quad-rotors, single rear-motor glider and single front-motor fixed-wing units.
Big Bend is home to the largest UAS Netted Lab on the west coast. The more than 1 million cubic foot facility allows for use of sUAS on our campus, which is located adjacent to the Port of Moses Lake. The netted lab also allows for flight of sUAS prototypes developed by students in our UAS Technical Management program.
