Strengthening Community Colleges (SCC5) Grant

The Strengthening Community Colleges Grant from the Washington Advanced Manufacturing Coalition helps individuals explore manufacturing careers, connect with training opportunities, provide support to meet academic and career goals, and prepare for employment in high-demand industries.

Our goal is to help participants successfully complete training, overcome barriers, and connect to quality careers in advanced manufacturing.

The Strengthening Community Colleges Grant supports your success through career exploration and coaching, one-on-one student support, training and career navigation, connections to employers and manufacturing careers, and internship and work-based learning opportunities. In addition, eligible participants may receive:

  • Tuition & Fee Assistance
  • Books, Tools & Course Materials
  • Transportation Support
  • Emergency Financial Assistance

*Support services are provided based on individual needs, eligibility, and available funding.

Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify for the Strengthening Community Colleges Grant, you must be 18 or older, a Washington State resident, authorized to work in the United States and interested in a manufacturing career pathway (see list below).

  • Structural Welder
  • Robotic Welding Technician
  • Manufacturing Technician
  • Industrial Maintenance Technician
  • CNC Machinist
  • Quality Assurance Inspector
  • Production Lead
  • Production Supervisor
  • Instrumentation Technician
  • Engineering Technician
