Chemistry Transfer AS-T Track 1 map
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Communications Skills: 5 Credits
Quantitative Skills: 10 Credits (SQR)
Remaining Credits: 10-15 Credits
Humanities (HU, HP) and Social Science (SS): 15 Credits
(ART, CMST, ENGL, FREN, GERM, HUM, MUSC, PHIL, REL, SPAN)
(ANTH, CJ, ECON, HIST, POLS, PSYC, SOC)
Physical Education/Health & Wellness: 3 Credits
AS-T Pre-Major: 45-50 Credits (NS, LS, MS)
The purpose of the AS-T degree is to allow the student who plans to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry the opportunity to make substantial progress toward fulfilling major requirements while completing at least half of the liberal arts, or general requirements. Completing the AS-T degree will prepare students for upper division study; it does not guarantee students admission to the major. The college recommends that the student identify one or two potential transfer schools and then contact qualified program advisors at those institutions as early as possible to obtain specific, course-by-course advice
Total Credits Required: 90

KEY: F = Fall, W = Winter, Sp = Spring, Su = Summer
- Cumulative GPA must be 2.0 or higher.
- Meet with your advisor each quarter to make sure you are on track!
- Instead of PEH 178 or 100 you can take 3, 1-credit PEH activity courses
- The Gen Chem, Engr Phys, and Majors Biology series each start in the fall and stretch through the spring
- Recommendations for WA state schools:
- WSU: MATH&151, 152, 163, 220, either PHYS series
- CWU: ENGL&235, MATH&151, 152, 163, 254, either PHYS series
- EWU: MATH& 151, 152, 163, either PHYS series
The 2-year pathway starts Fall quarter. While courses may be started any quarter, this will extend time to degree completion
This program can be completed on campus or hybrid. Courses are offered on-campus, online, or hybrid (part on-campus, part online).
90 Credits = 6 Quarters* if you take 15 credits each quarter.
*Your specific route may take longer than 6 quarters depending on the number of credits you take each quarter and where you start in your math and English pathways.
There are a wide variety of career opportunities including premedical, pre-dental, pre-veterinary, pre-PT, pre-pharmacology, forensic scientists, lab techs, environmental scientist, engineer, agriculture, and education.
Successful completion of the AS-Track 1 degree prepares students for a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with specializations in Inorganic, Analytical, Environmental, Instrumental, Organic, Biochemistry, or Materials Science. It also prepares students for the continuation of preparation for professional programs such as pre-medicine, pre-dental, pre-veterinarian, prepharmacy, physical therapy.
