To use SBAC scores for placement, student must enroll in college the academic year immediately following high school graduation or, for students enrolling in a dual credit program, the academic year immediately following SBAC testing.

SBAC scores of level 3 or higher may be used.

Effective through August 31, 2019. Students who tested in 2017 may use the previous agreement for SBAC scores. Please contact Student Administrative Support Services at 509-793-2061 or email admissions@bigbend.edu for more information.

Mathematics Placement
MATH& 107*, MATH& 146* or MATH 099* MATH& 141* or MATH& 147*

High school juniors or seniors enrolling in a dual credit program (Running Start, College in the High School)

Must meet BOTH of the following:

  • SBAC Score of 3 or 4
  • B or better in Algebra 2

Recent high school graduates

Option 1: Must meet ALL of the following:

  • SBAC Score of 3 or 4
  • B or better in Algebra 2
  • Passing grade in math course in junior or senior year

Option 2:

  • B or better in Bridge to
    College Math** as a senior

All students

Must meet BOTH of the following:

  • SBAC Score of 3 or 4
  • B or better in high school pre-calculus or higher math course

 

English Placement
ENGL& 101*

Option 1:

  • SBAC Score of 3 or 4

Option 2:

  • B or better in Bridge to College English** as a senior

 

*Qualifies for the Running Start program (Running Start will not pay for MATH 099).

**Officially designated Bridge courses are not offered at all high schools. Course must be identified on the high school transcript by the code WA0001 or WA0003
