BBCC values the expertise and partnership of industry leaders throughout our region who serve on Workforce Program Advisory Committees. These committees play a vital role in advancing the college’s mission by bringing employers, community partners, educators, and administrators together to ensure our workforce programs remain relevant, responsive, and aligned with current and emerging industry needs. Through their guidance and professional insight, advisory committee members help shape educational programs, identify workforce trends, and ensure students develop the knowledge and skills necessary for success in today’s evolving career fields, ultimately strengthening the workforce and communities we serve.

Advisory Committee Purpose

An Advisory Committee is a group of industry and community professionals who provide guidance to BBCC to help keep workforce programs current, relevant, and aligned with employer needs. Their expertise helps strengthen program quality and supports student career success.

Serving on an Advisory Committee

Advisory Committee Member Commitment

Attend two meetings per year, typically lasting 1–1.5 hours each.
Participate in discussions with faculty to provide industry feedback and recommendations.
Share ideas, observations, and workforce trends that can help students succeed in their chosen careers.
Support a collaborative environment by listening, engaging, and contributing professional expertise.
A minimum of five committee members must be present to conduct official committee business.
