MOSES LAKE — Big Bend Community College is excited to announce the grand opening of a new space for students. The space, called the Transfer and Career Center, will be the hub for students to get assistance with transferring to another higher education institution and receive job or career related support.
“We are very excited to open the Transfer and Career Center so that we can help students plan and transition to their next step beyond BBCC,” said Alissa Scriven, Retention Coordinator. “Whether that next step is continuing their education or entering the workforce, we want to support student success by giving them the resources and information they need to make the transition as smooth as possible.”
The Transfer and Career Center includes resources for regional four-year colleges and universities, BBCC Applied Bachelor programs, computers, local job postings, internship opportunities, and personalized support from experienced BBCC staff members.
“We hope students utilize this space to plan their future goals and make meaningful steps toward achieving them,” said Michelle Arceo, Career Services & Workforce Development Coordinator.
Through this center, BBCC will continue to build relationships with local employers and regional transfer partners to support students’ needs and dreams.
The grand opening will be held in the new Transfer and Career Center, inside the college’s Admin (1400) Building, on April 17 at 2:30 p.m.
