Athletic Academic Honorees Fall 2017

Sophomores Savannah Bass, Laurissa Kisler, and Madison Powers were each recognized by the Northwest Athletic Conference for their performance in the classroom during the Fall 2017 Quarter.

“This really fits the bill for the type of character that these young ladies have. They are amazing people, they are amazing teammates, and they have a team-first attitude,” said Lady Vikings Head Coach Mike DeHoog. “I believe there is a strong correlation between success in the classroom and success in life and each of these student-athletes exemplify that. I am very proud of each of them.”

The honor follows the recent recognition of the entire Big Bend Athletic Department that earned the NWAC’s highest overall academic award for 2016-17 – The Presidents Cup – for the third time in its five-year existence.
