The annual recognition ceremony for local people who have earned their High School Completion Diploma or GED certificate will be held in Wallenstein Theater at Big Bend Community College on June 10 starting at 7 p.m.

The ceremony honoring students who have earned the GED Equivalency Certificate or the high school diploma (HS21 program) is one of the most positive and emotional events held on campus each year.

The college loans caps and gowns to the honorees, which makes for a more meaningful ceremony, good photographs, and memories.

The theater fills with family and friends who support the recipients in their decision to return to school and earn a high school diploma or GED. A highlight of the evening is an open microphone for GED recipients to tell their stories and thank their families.

If you are a student who earned a GED or high school diploma at BBCC since June of 2014 and are planning to attend the ceremony, contact Margie Lane at 509-793-2064. Students should plan to arrive at the theater at 6 p.m. to get ready for the ceremony.
