Brendan Westendorf (center) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Seattle University. Big Bend’s all-time leading scorer (1,625 points), Westendorf won back-to-back NWAACC East Region MVP awards, and was selected Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Year by the NWAACC in 2014. Coach Mark Poth said Brendan is the best “skill set player” he has coached in 27 years at Big Bend. Westendorf averaged 29.5 points, 7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game during the 2013-14 season.

Congratulations to the MEChA Club for a successful blood drive

The April 9 blood drive and bone marrow registry sponsored by BBCC’s MEChA Club exceeded goals and was the most successful blood drive at BBCC

Big Bend Community College Trustees recognized 11 current and former students who have overcome barriers and transformed their lives at Big Bend Community College on March 6. The students’ families were invited to the ceremony and dinner. The college produced poster-size photos of each recipient, which will be posted on several buildings on campus.
