All testing has been suspended at Big Bend Community College due to the extended Stay Home, Stay Healthy mandate. Staff and administration are looking into other testing alternatives. No future testing appointments are being made at this time. Testing Center

The BBCC Testing Center offers a variety of exam opportunities in a secure and quiet environment for both students and the community. We proctor student make-up, accommodated exams, college placement exams, Accuplacer test (for recent high school grads), Certiport exams, PAN exams, Pearson Vue exams, CLEP exams, GED exams, MOS exams, MTA exams, and TEAS exams by appointment.

The BBCC Testing Center is located inside the 1400 Building on the first floor — Office 1410 — across from the Business Office.

Important Info
You MUST bring photo ID and receipt of payment to the test. There is a $10.00 fee for each test. Placement testing fees should be paid prior to testing at the BBCC Business Office in the 1400 building (open at 7:30am). Keep the receipt as you will need to present it when you take the test(s). If you have not pre-paid for the test, plan to arrive early so you can be at the testing center on time. The Testing Center is located in the 1400 Building.

Results for the math tests are available immediately, but the English results are not available until the following Monday.

Placement tests can be taken a maximum of two times in a 12-month period.

WE RELEASE PLACEMENT RESULTS ONLY to the person taking the exam or with written authorization from that person. We cannot release exam scores over the telephone.

We will mail results upon request and if you complete a mailing envelope while at the test center.

Placement testing helps determine your readiness for college classes. BBCC uses the ACCUPLACER exam for placement. The test will help advisors and students select the appropriate classes in math and English. This test is also used to qualify for the Running Start program.

The placement test can be taken two times in a 12 month period, so come prepared to do your best. Placement test are not timed, so schedule your time accordingly (approximately 1-3 hours). Math scores are valid for a two year period and English scores are valid for five years. If you have not registered for a math or English class by that time, you will need to retest.

Placement Test Procedures:

  • Tests are offered various days and times by appointment. Call the Testing Center (509) 793-2064 or stop by in person to schedule.
  • Pay the appropriate fee ($10.00 for math, $10.00 for English) prior to the test at the Business Office in the 1400 building. If you have not pre-paid for the test, plan to arrive 15 minutes early so you can be at the testing center on time. Having your social security number will aid in assigning you a student identification number.
  • You MUST bring your photo ID and receipt of payment to your testing appointment.

Test Results –

  • Both math and English results are available at the completion of the test
  • WE RELEASE PLACEMENT RESULTS ONLY to the person taking the exam or with written authorization from that person. We cannot release exam scores over the telephone.


The Testing Center provides certification exams for many certification exams for Certiport, PAN, Pearson Vue and WSDA Pesticide testing.

Certiport – MOS, MTA and Intuit Quickbooks exams are available for BBCC students as well as the general public taking IT Academy classes. Please see the separate section below on MOS/MTA/Intuit Quickbooks testing or contact the Testing Center at (509) 793-2064 for additional information.

PAN – Pre-employment screening exams. Please go to for information and scheduling, and payment of exam fees.

Pearson Vue – Certification exams including but not limited to (Cisco, CompTIA, ES, GED, NES, NREMT, WEST, etc.). Go to for information, to schedule testing and pay test fees. Note: Some certification exams need prior approval from the exam sponsor. NOTE: See separate section on GED for additional information.

As of 3/25/2020 WSDA testing for April 10th is still on the schedule, however if the Stay-Home, Stay-Healthy is extended the test would be rescheduled. Please call 1-877-301-4555 to be put on the schedule.

PSI Testing (Formerly PAN) is also suspended until April 16th.

Earn college credit by demonstrating knowledge acquired in a variety of ways outside of the traditional classroom.

Scheduling/Testing Procedures:

  • CLEP candidates must first register and pay their exam fees via the My Account Portal at prior to scheduling a testing appointment. THE NAME ON YOUR REGISTRATION TICKET MUST MATCH EXACTLY TO THE NAME ON YOUR PHOTO IDENTIFICATION, INCLUDING THE ORDER OF THE NAMES. Identification must also include the name, date of birth, and signature. See the above website for a list of acceptable forms of ID. Please choose BBCC as your preferred test site and be sure to PRINT your Exam Registration Ticket. Study materials can also be purchased at the above website.
  • Call the Testing Center at (509) 793-2064 to schedule the test appointment.
  • Pay the $25 proctor fee at the Business Office in the 1400 building.
  • Bring the CLEP Registration Exam Ticket, current/valid government-issued photo identification, and receipt for the proctor fee to the test. These are all required to test.

IMPORTANT reminder: The name on the CLEP Registration Exam Ticket MUST match EXACTLY the name on the photo identification, including the order of the names in order to test.

  • State or Province ID issued by the motor vehicle agency
  • Military ID
  • National ID
  • Tribal ID
  • Naturalization card or certificate of citizenship meeting the above requirements

The GED is a high school equivalency exam and measures academic achievement and college readiness for those who did not complete high school. Earning a GED may provide you with better job opportunities and may also help you qualify for financial aid for college.

Who Is Eligible to Test?

  • You are at least 16 years old. If you are under 19 years of age, you will need to provide the Approval to Test Form completed by your last high school attended, or local high school or school district office where you currently reside. If you are under 19 and were home schooled, you will need the completed abovementioned form or provide the Notarized Statement/Letter for Home School Students. One of these forms must be submitted to the Testing Center prior to scheduling an appointment. Contact the Testing Center at (509) 793-2064 for information.
  • You have NOT received a high school diploma and are not currently enrolled in high school
  • Washington state residency is required for testing. You must bring current, Washington State government issued identification which includes your name, address, date of birth, signature, and photo.

Scheduling Information

  • Scheduling is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Go to or call (877) 392-6433 to set up your account and get started. Once you have set up an account, you can take practice tests, schedule the actual tests, reschedule or cancel if needed, pay for the tests, check your scores, and change your profile information.


Once registered at, select “yes” when asked if you intend to apply for testing accommodations based upon a documented disability. Once selecting “yes”, candidates will receive an email with specific information on where to submit their accommodations request. You will be notified in writing of the accommodations decision, usually within 30 days.

MOS/MTA Intuit Quickbooks EXAMS (Certiport, beginning Spring 2019)

BBCC students – no fee for MOS students in BIM classes.

Non-BBCC students – $25 per test, including retakes (pay at Business Office in the 1400 building)

The Washington State Library and BBCC are working together to provide Microsoft Office exams at a greatly reduced cost. MOS 2013 and 2016 are available. You must have BBCC instructor approval or be able to provide proof of registration in the Microsoft IT Academy prior to scheduling a testing appointment. Candidates applying for accommodations must submit an Exam Accommodation Request Form (see for instructions prior to scheduling an appointment. Follow the instructions to ensure proper processing of your request. 

Test Day Instructions

Bring your current government issued photo identification that matches your Certiport profile, your Certiport username and password, and your receipt of the proctor fee payment (if applicable).

Retake Policy

If a candidate does not receive a passing score on the first attempt, he/she must wait a minimum of 24 hours before retaking the exam. After the second and any subsequent attempt, the candidate must wait a minimum of 48 hours before retaking.


Immediately following your testing session, you will receive a copy of your score as well as information about the passing standard for each particular exam. 



BBCC exams – no fee

Proctor fee for all other exams – $25 (pay Business Office in 1400 building)

Note: WGU pays for the student proctor fee.

Testing services are provided for BBCC make-up and accommodated exams, distance learning exams from other colleges and universities, and other agencies as requested.

Proctored exams are given by appointment. Schedule by calling the Testing Center at (509) 793-2064. It is the student’s responsibility to contact their instructor or college and have the exam sent to the Testing Center. Be sure to confirm that the exam and proctor instructions have arrived prior to your testing appointment. You must bring photo identification and receipt of payment (if required) to your testing appointment.

TEAS Testing

Proctor Fee: $25 (pay at Business Office, 1400 building).

Exam Fee: $71 + tax. Testing fee will be paid directly to ATI at the time of appointment at BBCC, bring a debit or credit card for this transaction.

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is used as a scoring component for application to the BBCC Nursing Program. This is a computer-based test lasting approximately 4 hours. It contains subtests in English, math, science, and reading. 

Scheduling procedures

  • TEAS testing is available by appointment only. Call the Testing Center (509) 793-2064 for dates and to schedule an appointment. March dates can fill up early, so don’t wait to call!
  • Exam can be taken two times per year and the scores are valid for one year. The Nursing Department does not recommend retesting, but you can retake after one month. The two scores are averaged.
  • Prior to test day, go to to create an account (username/password only).

Test Day Information

  • Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to test time.
  • No late admission allowed once the test has started.
  • Plan on approximately 4 hours to take the test.
  • current government-issued photo identification and receipt of $25 proctor fee payment are required, no exceptions.
  • Bring your ATI account username and password which will be needed to log into the exam.
  • Bring your credit/debit card to pay the test fee at login.
  • Calculators are prohibited. Scratch paper and pencil will be provided.
