Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Program Outcomes
Identify, formulate, and solve hardware and software errors in mechatronic systems
Maintain and repair sUAS systems, including vehicles, sensors and controls
Apply modeling, simulation, and computing tools in the design of mechatronic systems
Recognize and debate legal and ethical boundaries associated with use of sUAS and/or UMS
Communicate effectively in a technical setting
Determine environmental constraints and safety issues for various UMS operations
Design beyond line of sight (BLOS) UAS operations in support of data collection
Critically analyze, evaluate and create geospatial information system (GIS) data, maps and reports
Students will be able to reason mathematically using methods appropriate to the profession.
Students will be able to demonstrate teamwork and/or workplace specific skills related to human relations.
UMS Mechatronics Certificate Outcomes
Identify, formulate, and solve hardware and software errors in mechatronic systems
Build, program and test mechatronic systems, including vehicles, sensors and controls
Apply modeling, simulation, and computing tools in the design of mechatronic systems
Recognize and debate legal and ethical boundaries associated with use of UMS
Communicate effectively in a technical setting
Determine environmental constraints and safety issues for various UMS operations
Students will be able to reason mathematically using methods appropriate to the profession.

Demonstrate the safe and professional operation of both fixed and rotary wing UAS
Apply effective mission planning to a variety of UAS operations
Recognize and debate legal and ethical boundaries associated with the use of UAS
Communicate effectively in a technical setting
Determine environmental constraints and safety issues for various UAS operations
