Online Scholarship Application

The STEM Peer-Mentoring Scholarship aims to increase the participation, persistence, and degree completion of Hispanic and low-income Running Start students in STEM-focused programs.  The scholarship aspires to alleviate a portion of the financial burden of dual-enrollment by providing funds to support students pursuing academic pathways leading to bachelor degree transfer in a STEM field. Scholarship applications will be accepted through December 6th, 2019. Awards will be applied to the 2019-2020 academic year. New and returning Running Start students are welcomed to apply. The scholarship is aligned with and supported by the Title III Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Transforming STEM Pathways Grant.

Recipients of the award will receive up to a $1,000 annual award to cover course related expenses including:

  • Required textbooks and/or online curriculum software
  • Course materials such as supplies outlined in a course syllabus or class description
  • Course and lab fees
  • Developmental math tuition (MATH 094, 098, 099) for ONE quarter

Please see the STEM Peer-Mentoring Guidelines document for scholarship award amounts and eligibility requirements.
