Computer Science Certificate Options
Certificates are short-term training options that prepare students with the skills necessary to obtain entry level employment and complete computer industry certifications and exams. If desired, students can continue training and apply all earned credits to the Associate in Applied Science degrees.
Program Prerequisites: The Computer Science Program prerequisites are basic computer literacy, keyboarding, and familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software; pre-college math and English courses may be required depending on student placement level.
Computer Support Specialist – Certificate of Accomplishment
Computer Support Specialists provide help and support to people and organizations using computer software or equipment. Some, called Help Desk Technicians, provide technical help to non-IT computer users. This short term training certificate can be completed in less than a year and prepares students for entry level employment in the IT industry.

Network Support Specialist – Certificate of Accomplishment
Network Support Specialists support IT employees within their organization. They typically test and evaluate existing network systems, perform regular maintenance to ensure that networks operate correctly, and troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and Internet systems. This short term training certificate can be completed in one year or less and prepares students for entry level IT networking and data center technician positions.

Systems Administration – Certificate of Achievement
This certificate is a one year training option for students enrolled in the Systems Administration program. Students gain the necessary skills to prepare for and take computer certifications in CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, and Microsoft MTA. Students completing this certificate may enter the work force as entry-level computer technicians.

CISCO Networking Academy – Certificate of Achievement and Certificate of Accomplishment
These certificate options prepare students to take the Cisco exams to become a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Certification validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in WAN.
