Steps For Entry Into The Program

To make things easy, we have spelled out the steps you will need to take make your Big Bend Aviation experience go as smoothly as possible. Don’t worry, while this may look like a long list, our staff will be there to guide you every step of the way.

Prospective Student Packet

Apply for admission

Complete a Big Bend Community College Application For Admission and submit it to the Student Services Office, Bldg. 1400 with the $30.00 application fee. Apply online, or paper application forms are available at the Student Services office or on our website at .  Submit the required Commercial Pilot Program Application and Questionnaire along with other required documents, as described in the Prospective Student Packet,to Student Services.

Send us transcripts

If you have college credits from a former school you should have your official transcript sent to the Student Services Office, BBCC, 7662 Chanute Street, Moses Lake WA 98837. Most schools require your signature and a fee for official transcripts. Check the school’s website or call them to find out their procedures.

Take the placement exams

Math and English placement is required.  Please see our Placement Testing website for information. 

Get financial aid information

Financial aid information is available from the Student Services Office, Bldg. 1400 or call (509)793-2061. Scholarship information is also available from the Financial Aid Office staff.


Advising is required for all new students and each quarter for continuing students with fewer than 30 credits.  Be sure to make an appointment to meet with your advisor before registration begins each quarter.

Register for classes

Attend a New Student Registration session to register for classes your first quarter classes. If you do not attend a session, you must meet individually with an advisor and will be allowed to register for classes during open registration.  If you are from outside our service district, you may be able to schedule a telephone advising session in lieu of attending one of the New Student Registration sessions.  After your application is processed, call the Student Services office at 509-793-2061 for more information.

Pay tuition and fees

Your tuition payment will be due before the quarter begins. The academic calendar will indicate the tuition payment due date. Tuition must be paid in full by the due date or you will be dropped from your classes and will have to begin the registration process again. Financial aid awards are normally posted to your account on or before the tuition due date. Tuition may be paid by cash, check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover). If paying by credit card you may pay online at . Click on Student Info Kiosk and then select “Pay by Credit Card”.

Attend Viking Orientation

Viking Orientations are held before most quarters. You will receive information about orientation at your New Student Registration session. At Viking Orientation you will learn important information about resources available at BBCC to help you succeed.

Buy your books

You may buy your books at the campus bookstore or online at The Bookstore may have used books for sale which can save you money. Estimated cost of books per year is $720.
