In order to help you have a successful year, we’re providing Office 365 to every faculty member and student at Big Bend for free. With Office 365, you will have access to the latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and much more to help you both in the classroom and office.

Follow these easy steps to get Office.

  1. Download these apps from your app store: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  2. Sign in with your school credentials for full editing capability

What is the Office 365 benefit?

Big Bend Community College is a Microsoft customer and licenses Office for its faculty, staff, and students. This license now also allows BBCC to offer Office 365 to those groups at no cost. You can take advantage of free Office 365 through a self-sign up process. This offer is only available to current BBCC employees and enrolled students.

The Microsoft Office CD’s are no longer available in the bookstore–– but FREE is better!

What does Office 365 include?

Office 365 comes with a full version of Office, including familiar Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and more. Office 365 is a user-based service and allows you to install on up to five (5) PCs or Macs, or tablets (iPad) and the ability to access Office mobile applications on iPhone and Android phones. (Office Mobile applications are included with all Windows phones). More information is available here. If you exceed five devices the Microsoft install process will prompt you to deactivate one of your previous installations.
You get unlimited storage through OneDrive, a cloud based storage solution, to ensure you access to all of your documents whenever and whenever you need them.

If you using a computer that doesn’t have Office installed, you can also edit or review documents in Office Online in any browser.

What devices can I use Office 365 on?

Office supports PCs and Windows tablets running Windows 7 or higher, and Macs with Mac OS X 10.6 or higher. Office for iPad can be installed on iPads running version 7.0 or higher. For information about mobile devices, visit

Can I install Office for iPad through this Office 365 benefit?

Yes, this would count towards the limit of installing it on five (5) devices. Just install the applications and sign in with your school ID.

How do I get free Office 365?

  5. Follow the link in the email to login to Office 365 and download the application.

What happens when I graduate or leave the college?

When you graduate or leave BBCC your Office 365 subscription through the institution ends. You may enroll in other consumer or commercial offers available. Before you graduate or leave BBCC you should make sure to transfer all your files from your BBCC Office 365 OneDrive to your personal OneDrive or storage device.
