Mary Shannon

Mary Shannon is the Computer Science Instructional Designer for Title V. She developed the BBCC Computer Science program and manages the program curriculum, enrollments, and facilities. Mary has worked in WA state community colleges for over 25 years starting as a full-time instructor. She has been an administrator and part-time instructor with BBCC since 1998. Mary has a BBA and MBA from Gonzaga University.

Arthur Wanner

Arthur Wanner is the full-time Computer Science Instructor at Big Bend Community College. Arthur holds a BS in Computer Science from Washington State University and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.  He teaches a wide variety of computer courses including programming, database design, operating systems, hardware, security, and Linux server administration.  Arthur started his teaching career in K-12 and was a math tutor while attending Big Bend as a former student. Arthur currently gives private guitar lessons, and just enjoys helping others in any way, shape, or form.  In his spare time he enjoys playing music, racquetball, ping pong, and going hiking.

Peter Betzing

Peter has a degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology from the National Institute of Technology. He possesses a number of certifications including Microsoft Certified Trainer, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Professional, Citrix Certified Network Associate, and Citrix Certified Administrator. Peter is a part-time instructor and teaches a variety of computer courses.

 Chris Carter

Chris Carter is a Software Architect at Optimum Energy in Seattle.  Chris has 16 years’ experience across a multitude of platforms and industries, including e-commerce, quantitative analysis, energy management and telephony.  He has worked in and consulted across the Fortune 500 and built several startups from the ground up, creating software and large scale data management systems.  Chris is a part-time instructor and teaches software and web development courses.

Mike Conway

Mike Conway is a Programmer/Analyst III at Grant County PUD. He grew up in Ephrata and spent 7 years in Milwaukee, WI working for Fortune 500 and start-up software companies. He has been programming since 2003 primarily with PHP and C#.NET on both Windows and Linux environments. He also does freelance and contract web development for companies both large and small around the country. Mike has an AS-IT Programmer/Analyst degree from Waukesha County Technical College in Wisconsin.  Mike is a part-time instructor and teaches software and web development courses.

Noe Guzman

Noe has taught Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and IT Essentials courses at Columbia Basin Job Corps and Big Bend Community College since 2003.  Noe graduated from BBCC with a Computer Science AAS degree.  He is certified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and CompTia A+ Techncian.  Married with four children, Noe enjoys officiating high school football, basketball, and baseball.

Mark Ellestad

Mark is a Network Administrator and Security Specialist for Moses Lake Industries.  He has industry certifications in Cisco, Microsoft Server, SQL, and Networking.  Mark has taught BBCC networking courses for two years.
