Customized Job Skills Training
Customized Job Skills Training (CJST) is an intensive short-term job training program customized for participants preparing for the workplace. The trainings are designed to include industry specific skills identified by local business and industry. Training is typically 8 to 22 weeks in length. Examples of training include, but are not limited to: Front Office Specialist, Childcare/Early Childhood Assistant and Certified Nursing Assistant.
BasiSSkills Training (including GED/ESL)
The Adult Basic Education program (ABE) is designed to enhance basic skill levels in math, reading, writing and critical thinking and to prepare students for the GED.
English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) is for non- or limited English-speaking adults. Classes combine listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with an emphasis on listening and speaking skills.
Both ABE and ESL instruction centers on real-life issues and combines lecture, computer-assisted learning, small group work and independent learning. The goal in both programs is to increase literacy skills for success in college classes or entry level employment.
