Associate in Arts and Science Transfer Option
Criminal Justice is the scientific study of crime. This program is designed to broaden students’ awareness of the extent and character of crime and the method our society uses to deal with criminals, including the social importance and legal responsibilities of law enforcement officers. This course of study is intended for individuals working in the field of law enforcement as well as for the student who will eventually transfer to a four-year college or university.
Since programs differ at each college, students who intend to transfer should consult program outlines in the catalog of the college or university, which they plan to attend. The following recommended courses prepare students for most baccalaureate institutions.  These courses are meant to prepare you for baccalaureate study. The level of content and work is rigorous but often balanced with humor and interesting activities. Students should prepare their quarterly schedules with the assistance of an advisor knowledgeable in the transfer area. See pages 25-27 for general education requirements for the Associate in Arts and Science degree.
