GED and high school completion recognition June 11 at BBCC
The annual recognition ceremony for local people who have earned their GED certificate or High School Completion Diploma will be held in Wallenstein Theater at Big Bend Community College on June 11 starting at 7 p.m.
The ceremony honoring students who have earned the GED Equivalency Certificate or the high school diploma is one of the most positive and emotional events held on campus each year.
The college loans caps and gowns to the honorees, which makes for a more meaningful ceremony, good photographs, and good memories.
The theater fills with family and friends who support the recipients in their decision to return to school and earn a GED. A highlight of the evening is an open microphone for GED recipients to tell their stories and thank their families.
If you are a student who earned a GED or high school diploma at BBCC since June of 2013 and are planning to attend the ceremony, contact Margie Lane at 793-2064. Students should plan to arrive at the theater at 6 p.m. to get ready for the ceremony.
