An employment law update for managers and supervisors who need to stay current with employment and labor laws will be held at Big Bend Community College on Sept. 24.
Employment Law Update will be delivered by attorneys Gil Sparks and Erin McCool of Ogden Murphy Wallace, PLLC. The session will last from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the ATEC building at BBCC.
The speakers will review recent employment and labor law cases, provide an update on wage and hour issues, and review new standards for designating independent contractors.
Also covered will be pregnancy and domestic violence leave requirements, how to handle employee terminations, and National Labor Relations Board updates impacting union and non-union employees.
