Call to area writers, poets, artists and photographers

MOSES LAKE – Organizers of Milepost 177, the literary magazine published by Big Bend Community College, are seeking submissions for the 2008 edition.

The publication is sponsored by the BBCC Foundation. Proceeds from the sale of the book benefit BBCC Foundation scholarships.

All works must be submitted by April 30 for consideration. Submissions which reflect life in the Columbia Basin will have priority consideration for inclusion.

Works of fiction and non-fiction in 2,000 words or fewer, poetry, graphic art and photography are welcome. Submissions should be sent in a newer version of Microsoft Word or Wordperfect along with a paper copy. Art work should be at least 300 dpi in either .jpg or .tiff format. Pieces smaller than 11” x 17” may be submitted in hard copy format. Due to space constraints, authors are limited to three items, photographers and artists to five items.

Artists and writers should include the name of the piece, the name of the author/artist, address, email address and a contact phone number on a separate sheet. Submissions can be dropped off at the English Skills Lab, in ATEC, Room 1832 on the BBCC campus or mailed to Milepost 177, c/o B. Guilland, Room 1832, Big Bend Community College, 7662 Chanute St. NE, Moses Lake, WA 98837. Question regarding Milepost 177 can be directed to (509)765-3219 or bgui.may@gmail.com.
