Applications for entrance into the Commercial Pilot Training Program are accepted beginning November 1 of each year.  These applications will be considered for the program beginning the next Fall Quarter.  Applications will be processed in the order accepted.  Late applications will be placed on a waiting list, when class size limit is reached.

All students enrolled in the flight program must be full-time college students enrolled in courses totaling a minimum of 12 quarter credit hours or 6 semester credit hours (in addition to the 4 credit flight course) and maintain the minimum specified grade point average (currently cumulative 2.00 GPA).  Students from other institutions of higher learning may enroll in BBCC flight courses on a space available basis if they maintain the full-time student status outlined aabove.  Students in the Aviation Program are also required to initially obtain a Class II medical certificate.

Non-aviation students may enroll in selected ground schools on a space available basis without meeting flight department requirements for program entry.

All aviation courses and entry requirements are subject to change as required by the Federal Aviation Administration or Big Bend Community College.  BBCC Flight Department courses and programs are designed to meet the current FAA regulations.  If changes occur, the new requirements apply to both enrolled students, students accepted for the next Fall Quarter and those on the waiting list.
