October is Disability History Month! Let's broaden our awareness and understanding of disability history and people with disabilities. BBCC is hosting two traveling exhibits on loan from the Museum of disABILITY History in Amherst, New York: Moving Forward, Looking Back and Madness in America Where to find the Displays: October 18, 19, 20: 1400 Building Student Success Center October 23 and 24: 1600 Building Lobby October 25, 26 and 27: 1800 Building ATEC Peterson Gallery *Bonus* Check out the display table of books and videos with disability themes in the Bonaudi Library.

2016

Steve Ferreria Disability Awareness Month Motivational Speaker. Wednesday, October 12 @ 1:00 p.m. Masto Conference Center (ATEC Bldg. 1800). Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, he has triumphed to become the best he can in everything he does. Accomplished Athlete, Motivational Speaker, and Business Entrepreneur.

Steve Ferreira was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1988. Shortly after birth he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.  When he was 15 years old, he decided that he wanted to try to make a difference in the world. He knew he could not only positively affect the lives of disabled people, but also the lives of everyone he meets. This inspired him to start speaking at local high schools about what it is like to live with a .

To date, he has spoken over 300 times to high schools, colleges, at Kiwanis and Rotary events, luncheons, and churches. He has also spread the word internationally at his birth place, Taipei, Taiwan.
