Cake Decorating 101: The first evening we will begin with an introduction to basic icings. Make a simple buttercream that you will use to ice your own cake and then build on this by producing borders, working on techniques, cake designs and recipes. This is a hands-on class and each student will need to bring one small cake to the second class only. (8” round or 9” square) Icing will be provided and each student will receive their own cake decorating kit upon arrival to use during the class. The second night will build on the prior and again is a hands-on class requiring each student to bring with them a small (8” round or 9” square) cake for decorating, along with decorating tools. Icings will be provided. You will continue to work on technique and creativity, the instructor Dan Bolyard will demonstrate the process of creating flowers and leaves for your cake designs.  Soup’s On! Anytime is soup time! Learn to create delicious meals featuring savory soups for your family and friends. Dan Bolyard will present an incredible workshop where he will cover the building blocks to mouth watering stocks, enhancing flavors with his artful presentation of seasonings, and thickening techniques in a variety of soups from hot/cold soups, dessert soups and sauces. Holiday Favorite-- Sweet Treats Evenings Chef Bolyard will demonstrate the art of candy making and share some favorite recipes as he walks us through he stages of melting, tempering and decorating. He will show us how to test without a thermometer, the different types of chocolate – ganache, truffles; and cover sugar cookery with peanut brittle, divinity, seafoam, fudge and taffy. Don’t miss these fun-filled and very sweet evenings that will inspire you to create amazing treats at home.
