Microsoft Word 2007: Level 1
Word processing is the use of computers to create, revise, and save documents for printing and future retrieval. Whether writing a letter, sending an email or ordering a product on the internet, entering text into a computer is an important basic skill. This course will provide you with the basic concepts required to produce business documents. You will create, edit, and enhance standard business documents using Microsoft® Office Word 2007. This course is intended for individuals who want to gain basic knowledge of working on Word. Students should be familiar with using personal computers and have used a mouse and keyboard. You should be comfortable in the Windows environment and be able to use Windows to manage information on your computer.

Microsoft Word 2007: Level 2
In the first course in this series you gained all the basic skills that you need to create a wide range of standardized business documents, the next step is to improve your proficiency. Microsoft Office Excel 2007: Level 1

Microsoft PowerPoint 2007: Level 1

Audiences not only expect that your presentations are in an electronic format, but they also demand that your presentations be unique and sophisticated in their use of such formats. Create overheads, slide shows, and presentations. Introduction to PowerPoint covers basic concepts for creating and producing presentations. You will explore the PowerPoint environment and create a new presentation. You will format text on slides to enhance clarity. Outlook 2007: Level 1

Outlook 2007: Level 2

Working with Long Documents
This is a six hour workshop, split into two 3-hour sessions. You will learn many intermediate-advanced level features available in Word to help make working with long documents a snap. You will learn about: Section breaks and headers/footers; using styles to create headings; numbering headings and lists; automatic cross-references and generating a table of contents, list of figures, list of maps; and creating a template from your finished document. We will take a document from plain text to a finished, automated report using the techniques you learn in class. You should be comfortable with using Word’s basic features to get the most out of this class.

Newsletter Design Basics Using Word
This fun, two-session workshop will be using Microsoft Word to create a newsletter. E-Mail Basics
This two session workshop is all about electronic mail. It will cover signing up for a free web-based e-mail account; setting up an electronic address book and composing a message, replying, forwarding, deleting, and attaching a file or picture. Accessing your e-mail messages via your internet provider’s webpage will be covered. In addition, you will learn tips and tricks to e-mailing and guidelines and etiquette to follow when e-mailing. Computer Maintenance and Protection
Computer problems can arise at anytime. Of course, you hope your computer system does not encounter any. To get your computer system set up with powerful preventative measures takes only a little extra work, but it saves you possible headaches later. This workshop will go through the steps on how to do just that. “Maintenance” topics include: Disk Cleanup, ScanDisk, Disk Defragmenter, scheduled Tasks, and other system tools. “Protection” topics include: Firewalls, Viruses, and Spyware.
